Luxury New Build Garden Transformation in Newton Mearns

Many new-build homes offer a blank canvas outdoors, but creating a truly functional and attractive garden often requires extensive groundwork before the landscaping can begin. For this project at a McTaggart & Mickel development in Newton Mearns, our clients wanted to transform their uneven outdoor space into a beautiful, low-maintenance garden that would perfectly complement their new home.

With significant changes in ground levels required, this was a large-scale landscaping project that combined structural work with premium materials to create an outdoor space designed for relaxing, entertaining and everyday family life.

The transformation began with extensive ground preparation, including the removal of approximately 200 tonnes of excavated material before importing over 50 tonnes of Type 1 aggregate to create a stable foundation for every element of the project.

To maximise the usable garden space and overcome the natural levels of the site, we constructed a substantial retaining wall that created a level, practical outdoor area while providing long-term structural support.

We then installed approximately 75 square metres of premium porcelain patios and connecting pathways, finished with elegant porcelain edging to deliver crisp, contemporary lines throughout the garden. An 18-square-metre shed base was also constructed, providing a durable foundation for future storage without compromising the overall design.

A bespoke sleeper retaining feature with decorative white stone chippings introduces texture and visual interest, while approximately 160 square metres of premium 35mm artificial grass creates a lush, low-maintenance lawn that can be enjoyed all year round.

The finished garden perfectly balances modern design with everyday practicality, providing the homeowners with multiple outdoor living areas and a seamless extension of their new home.
